Chelsea
"A lifelong gardener, I am deeply passionate about how people can support and be supported by their environment, and the benefits to mental health and climate resilience that gardens offer.
I love rejuvenating urban gardens so they can be sensual, sustainable havens for people and wildlife. I want to help people be part of the solution in our cities, creating gardens that bring great joy and also benefit our earth."
Chelsea has been running Gardens By Chelsea since 2018, and has been the Head Gardener and Horticultural Therapist at Horatio's Garden Scotland since 2023.
Created by acclaimed garden designer, RHS Vice-President and judge, James Alexander-Sinclair; Horatio’s Garden Scotland is a therapeutic sanctuary that supports patients affected by traumatic spinal cord injury, their loved ones and NHS staff at the National Spinal Injuries Unit in Glasgow.
Chelsea has worked in partnership with the NHS to support and promote health and wellbeing through gardening and therapeutic horticulture. Chelsea has worked with school and community gardens throughout Glasgow to facilitate the social and therapeutic benefits of nature connection and gardening. She presented at the Trellis Therapeutic Horticulture Conference in 2026.
Chelsea is a graduate of the WFGA Practical Horticultural Apprenticeship, and has been mentoring their WRAGs trainees for the last 4 years.
Chelsea has also worked as a professional photographer and documentary filmmaker in Australia and Canada, and has a degree in Media Studies, as well as schooling in Art & Design.
